The Caribbean Dinghy Championship (CDC)
For 2019 a new race format will deliver three days of racing in four class events: Laser & Laser Radial, RS Feva, Optimist and a new keel boat class. Each class will be a Caribbean championship. A Nations Trophy will then be awarded based on criteria to be announced.
The requirement of a team of 6 people previously needed meant that few islands could afford to compete. The new format has been designed to open up participation across more islands in the region. Added to that to ensure more islands can take part, a round robin format will be used in classes with high participation.
Who is Eligible?
The CDC is open to members of the CSA from across the region.
The first Annual 2019 Caribbean Sailing Week will take place in Antigua from October 17-20, 2019.
A detailed CDC Schedule will be available on the website in the near future.
Any organisations who are not members and would like to take part can visit www.caribbean-sailing.com to review the membership opportunities. Any individuals or businesses interested in sponsorship opportunities are welcome to get in touch on email@example.com to discuss options.
